First WAUH Family Picnic:
FUN & GAME EVENT

July 15, 2023 – Having a picnic is a perfect way to spend time with loved ones. WAUH created an outdoor event at the Lake Ridge park with delicious food and fun games. We had picnic games for all ages, including tug of war, corn hole, three-legged race, water ballon toss and a sack race just to name a few. The event was a huge success and it was great to see people from the same background come together  and spend such quality time with one another. We hope to see our community grow as we help and support one another. We will announce the next event in December during the General Assembly meeting.

The picnic took place on July 15, 2023 at:

Lake Ridge Park, White Oak Tent Pavilion

12350 Cotton Mill Drive, Woodbridge VA, 22192.

WAUH Establishment and 1st General Assembly Meeting:

The Woodbridge Area Unity Helpline (WAUH) was established on January 3, 2023, with a simple idea of forming a nonprofit organization. The purpose of this organization is to create self-support within the Ethiopian community in the Woodbridge area. The WAUH will make every effort to support its members and preserve the Ethiopian cultural tradition, especially when families lose loved ones.

The WAUH also promotes love, respect, and unity to members of this organization. The organization encourages its members to help one another during any emergencies that other members may face.

The first WAUH general assembly meeting was held on February 26, 2023, at 12350 Cotton Mill Drive, Woodbridge VA, 22192. The new bylaws were read to members and discussed in detail, with some amendments being added based on the members’ input.
